Frequently asked questions
What does a doula actually do?
A doula supports you emotionally, physically, and with information throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I believe in continuity of care - being the link between you, your partner, your GP, midwife, OBGYN, nurses, bodyworkers, and postpartum support beyond. I’m there when the shifts change during labor, when the lactation consultants are on vacation, and when you need steady, familiar support throughout the experience.
Do you support all types of births?
Your midwife focuses on the medical side of birth, and your partner supports you in their own way. My role is to support both of you—to hold space, guide, and help you navigate the experience so neither of you feels overwhelmed.
How are you different from a midwife or my partner?
Yes - whether you’re planning a hospital birth, home birth, medicated or unmedicated, my role is to support you in your choices.
What if my birth doesn’t go as planned?
Birth can be unpredictable, and that’s exactly why I’m there. I support you through whatever direction your birth takes, helping you stay informed, grounded, and supported.
Will you be there the entire time?
We decide together when it feels right for me to join you, no matter how far along your labor is. I don’t work from strict timelines or policies, but from individual needs and what feels most supportive for you in the moment.
What if I’m not sure which package is right for me?
That’s completely normal. We can talk it through together during a free connection call and figure out what feels like the best fit for you.
Can my partner still be involved?
Absolutely. I don’t replace your partner - I support them too. I help guide them so they can feel confident and involved in supporting you.
Do you offer payment plans?
Payment plans can be arranged—just reach out and we can find something that works.
